Kevin Lane

A retired physician and software developer, Kevin is now enjoying his third career. He discovered photography at a young age—his father owned a newspaper—and kept the passion alive through college. Starting with film, he mastered 35mm, medium, and large formats along with classic darkroom techniques before taking a 25-year break to focus on medicine and software. Now back in a transformed world of imaging, he’s making up for lost time, specializing in wildlife photography, especially raptors. As an interpretive ranger in National and State Parks—including Petrified Forest National Park, Yaquina Head Outstanding Natural Area, Bosque del Apache Wildlife Refuge, Olympic and Mount Rainier National Parks—he finds endless inspiration for his work and shares the beauty of these places with those who can’t experience them firsthand.
